starting a meaningless thread to have a new one to obsess over while waiting for some "Guidance"

So how committed are you to your Configured paint color? If told by your Guide that a change to paint color would bump in your delivery by a solid month, what colors would you be willing to accept - and PAY FOR?

Mine is Launch Green presently, which I can only speculate (or hallucinate) about what that actually looks like. But to get my R1T rig a month earlier I would take in this order:
  1. Rivian blue
  2. Forest green
  3. LA silver
  4. Glacier white

Hard to imagine the remaining colors being "in-play" for earlier deliveries - sorry about that Team-YELLOW

If they said my choices would push me back to the end of this year, I'd likely keep everything but switch to the max pack instead.

I am not a fan of the Launch Green from the digital renderings I have seen so far, I love white, Forest Green, LA Silver and the Limestone colors. If their white was pearl instead of flat I would probably wait for that combination.

I'm willing to switch between the two greens, although given how common Forest Green has been on the prototypes I expect it to be readily available when production starts. The real question is is it worth the $1500 upcharge or can I save that by going for Launch Green? That can only be answered if we ever get to see the mythical color.

I'm undecided between Limestone (currently configured), Rivian Blue, and LA Silver.

Need to see them to make my decision.

This is completely wild speculation on my part, but I'm reading the tea leaves differently. I don't really expect color to have a huge impact on delivery timing. A little impact to the extent that they may pull an order in a particular area up the queue because the line is already set up for a given color, sure. But my reading of color impacting delivery is far from "we are going to make all one color for 4 weeks before moving on to the next."

Heh no worries. The family is all in on yellow, even though it may delay us. We are driving this thing for 15 years, so what’s a month or two on the front end for a lifetime of sexiness?

I plan on staying with Launch Green with the Forest Edge, but it would be nice to see both in the flesh before having to make a decision. Pictures and videos seem to vary widely in how they portray paint and interiors.

I agree there's no telling how much, or even if, paint selection might influence a vehicle delivery schedule. Its all speculation since that's what Rivian's left us all to be doing incessantly!

Looking at it from a monetary standpoint, right now I have a LE so Launch green is no-charge that I configured with FE green interior, so paying $2,000 upcharge for it. If for some crazy reason getting Rivian Blue gets my truck sooner, then I'd happily accept +$500 adder to cover the paint while changing interior to no-charge (dark gray) Black Mountain.

This is all just about distractions while we wait for that special someone to post about their own engagement with a real Guide contact.

I’d consider changing colors if it meant a sooner delivery but since I don’t have an LE, I don’t know that it would matter much. There are a few colors I would pass on but for the most part I’d be open to changing. Hopefully if there was ever a color that was delaying things more than others, a guide would reach out asking if we wanted to change.

Although I still think some of the less popular colors might initially be before others. Wouldn’t they want to fine tune the process and train those new employees before ramping up the numbers for the more popular colors? Launch Green first then Compass Yellow, then…

I have Launch Green configured but REALLY like Rivian Blue. Once I hear from my Guide (and see them in person) I will make my decision. I am at the end of the LE line, so color probably won't influence my delivery. Being in the LA area is much more likely to get mine delivered sooner.

I think Rivian Blue is awesome and I like that it seems different in all the pictures its like it has some color shift almost with its metallic. I would like to see an up close shot of the paint to see the flake in it.

Wouldn't change
