So..... to give a quick update on this, in case anyone is interested.
FINALLY got to drop the truck off this past Monday to have them look at it and, as expected, not covered under warranty - no surprises there.
What is surprising is that they claim that even if they were to replace them, they only have plastic panels - according to them, there are no reinforced panels they can sell me. I'm still going to pursue this and see where I can get with it, so more to come.

On the plus side, the real reason I took it down there was for a failed power tonneau cover, which they say is being replaced with the latest and greatest v2 small slat style cover, so I got that going for me...

Minor update:
After pushing them and providing some part numbers provided by Riviot (thnks mate!), they are able to sell the "offroad" panels - at a cost of $2400 installed. 😲 That is 3 reinforced panels only, not the entire kit, which, if I'm not mistaken (could be!) more expensive than when the underbody shield was originally offered by itself. Ridiculous...
So the search on eBay starts.

Specialized carbon panels aren't cheap. Someone should make an aftermarket one out of metal. @EV Sportline @DCE

No doubt...
Looking back, the underbody shield option was $1700. If only I knew then what I know now...

I know this may have been beaten to death already, but reinforced panels or not....if you hit standing water at speed, even metal panels will likely be ripped off if it "catches the edge" of the water.

Water is dense/heavy.

It was simply bad luck you didn't see that standing water and you hit it. Just get the normal plastic panels for cheaper and chalk it up to an accident. It happens. Rare, but it happens. In my 30+ years of driving, I had this happen to me once in a sedan.

From memory the original panels were carbon reenforced plastic and sometime around Gen 2 they went to just plastic parts. I'd either buy an ebay one and stick it on there or, if you're a wheeler, get a metal one fab'd.

I typically fab replacement plates for myself and extra plates for my offroad vehicles. They don't come off in the rain lol! First I use CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) to design it.

see my second comment, we have rear skid plates in the works now!
I'm interested.... any idea of timeline to production of these? Just trying to determine if I wait or pull the trigger on the Rivian composites.
