Has anyone had their service center offer to initiate the process of lemon law arbitration themselves? Our Gen 1 Performance Dual Standard+ has now had five separate visits since the middle of April, all related to high voltage isolation (apparently?).

Here is everything that has been replaced:
- HVAC Assembly (front)
- Reinforcement, lower front frame
- Vehicle Dynamics Module
- 12V interior Fuse box
- Heat Exchanger/Radiator/Fan Module
- Refrigerant System:
  • Heat Exchanger
  • A/C Compressor
  • Desiccant Insert
  • Flush, Evacuate and Recharge
- HVAC Assembly (front again???)
- HVAC Evaporator (rear)

This is usually something initiated by customer. Not voluntarily offered by OEM or its staff. I'd be shock if there's been any instances where Rivian offered buy back without being asked.

Right?!? Never heard of this happening. But I just got off the phone with the service manager a short time ago confirming he submitted it to the team responsible for reviewing and approving lemon law/buyback requests. Now I’m starting to think something far more serious is/was wrong with the vehicle?

There's a big difference between buyback and lemon law, even if processed by the same team. Lemon law claims are filed by the customer (or their lawyer) against the manufacturer when very specific requirements are met, and for which a proactive buyback or other agreeable solution cannot be reached. Buyback is a good faith offer by the manufacturer for a defective vehicle - sometimes done to stave off an impending lemon law suit. Buyback would be a much easier and less expensive path to go down if it's being offered.

Now this is why I posted here - thank you! I have never been in this seat before, so I’m completely in the dark.

My question is how would a buyback work if the vehicle is leased?

sell it back. they prob know they can’t fix it. your lease has a payoff, Rivian pays off the lease and you keep what’s left.
