Service scares the hell out of me! I am a huge fan of mobile service and hope Rivian will do much more of it!
My biggest worry is vehicle damage. I am not rich... I work hard for, care for, and appreciate things I buy... Especially my most expensive purchases, such as houses and cars.

OK, to the point. My R1T went into Portland for service.
There were MANY issues that needed to be addressed from delivery. Mostly cosmetically damaged items: Several exterior issues. Mostly being black plastic scrapes, scuffs, scratches. A couple of paint issues. Misaligned tailgate. Rip or Cut in Drivers seat bottom. Center console chips in wood and trim, and deep scratches in plastic floor area.
Mechanical type issues: Alignment off. Steering wheel off center. Steering wheel shake. That issue where they contacted me and requested to see the vehicle for an inspection.

There were some other items but I cannot access the service request for some reason?? Says unauthorized access??

Well, how did it go? It actually went fairly well. A couple of issues did occur, that may not directly be Rivian' s fault.

The Bad:
-My Driver door panel, interior, was damaged. I have no idea how this happened but I suspect the tow truck driver did it. Seems like someone with keys on their side did it.
-Many feet marks/drags from entry/exit on the door panel, the door sill, and that plastic trim piece under door. It cleaned to though, luckily no permanent damage.
-The paint repair looks really good. Very surprised of the quality! BUT there was overspray all over the truck! They do this repair outside, in open air, where wind just does as it pleases. Moving these types of paint repairs to a more enclosed location should help this. But, TBH though, a lot of it just seems like carelessness. But again the actual repairs looked very good.
-The front passenger quarter panel PPF was removed! I talked to Rivian, there in the local Portland location, and asked if this was known. I did not give permission for this. They said no, they did not know about it. There would have been no reason to do this... It is quite perplexing. I assume the paint repair person did it, but again I have no idea why. It makes no sense. Rivian did not fuss and did the right thing.. They said they will reimburse the replacement.
-It had to be towed to WA because OR cannot do wheel alignments. The Alignment paperwork was left in car and they did improve it quite a bit, but steering wheel is still off center. It also still pull to the right a bit.
-Steering Wheel shake, like out of balance wheels/tires, is still very present.

The Good:
-I know it sounds bad, and it kind of is... But they had the car for a couple weeks. That is a decent amount of time... In that time, it did not come back dirty, and beside the issues mentioned above, it seemed to be fairly well cared for.
-Most of the cosmetic fixes were good.
-Communications were good.
-I had an R1T loaner! I think I got lucky there though!

Just an FYI, regarding my experience.

So, overall I think Portland Service Center is good, but just be aware when 3rd party folks are involved.
