Is the spare wheel an actual wheel? I can see it’s a full size spare, and planning to rotate that in now actually (bought a 3rd tire to get 4 new tires altogether) but never actually pulled the spare from the bed. It feels like a real wheel ?

If you are able and comfortable doing this, jack up that corner as if you were changing a flat tire and manually check for play and bearing noise. this guy does a good walk through of what you're looking for.

Awesome. I gave that a try last night and was able to hear some noise that I’m fairly certain is attributed to wheel bearing noises, but the wheel wasn’t loose on the hub/bearing assembly (yet). I’ll upload a video to YouTube (file size too large).

Dropped off the truck this morning and got a loaner R1S! Here are tire items they’re reviewing (last one is an FSAM to replace seals on the mobile charging cable). Did a quick drive with the shop foreman and he was surprised by the incredibly loud noise from the wheel. Told the advisor upon entry to the service center “oh yeah we’re definitely need to bring it in.” Vindicated! I’m not crazy!

Front drive unit seal, front left wheel hub assembly, and some random FSAM. Picking up in a few hours, although was kind of hoping to keep the S a few more days

2022 R1T Launch Edition
Just wanted to pop in here to say that I experienced the exact same issue and just got it fixed:

- 2022 R1T Launch Edition (have off-roaded considerably with it).
- Had 31k miles on my stock All Terrain Pirellis with very little tread left.
- Began hearing what I thought was road noise from worn out tires about 2 months ago.
- The noise got worse over time, and I noticed it would be the quietest when driving perfectly straight, but any small amount of steering would make it considerably louder.
- Got new Toyo Open Country AT3 tires hoping it would resolve the issue but there was no noticeable difference.
- Took it into the Fresno service center.
- Initially they "looked at everything: half shafts, CV joints, suspension" and tried to tell me nothing was wrong: "I'm 99% certain it is your more aggressive tires".
- I reiterated that the problem was the same just a week prior when I still had the stock tires, and that even with the more aggressive tread it shouldn't be nearly as loud as it was nor highly steering dependent.
- I was not about to drive 5 hours (with a friend) to go pick up my truck only to have it be clearly messed up still. I insisted that they put on some stock wheels and tires and do another test drive, even offering to buy stock tires from them if the noise went away.
- Sure enough, the noise was the same with their stock wheels and tires and so they finally decided to check the wheel bearings. I'm not sure why they didn't do this when they "looked at everything", as it was the most likely culprit from the start imo after having replaced the tires.
- Listen to the video from the tech showing how bad my bearings were! Now imagine it with 3000lb of radial load + axial load from steering.
- They luckily had two replacements in stock and were able to replace both the front left and front right and said the noise completely went away. I hope it is true when I go pick up my truck this weekend!
- Everything was covered under warranty.
