Power cover issues

I've been reading here for a bit and just signed up yesterday. I'm looking at purchasing an R1T private party, identified the vehicle, since prices seem to come back to earth a bit. The track has the power tonneau cover which I've read is problematic. Can it be removed or thats a non-starter? It seems cool but nothing I need or would use. However, this is a low mile, clean example.

A Rivian SC can “lock” the tonneau in the retracted state. There have been a lot of threads about potentially removing it & trying to reclaim some of that storage space, but IIRC the consensus was that it’s not worth it.

The good news is that Rivian says that they have a permanent fix/retrofit coming s00n for the power tonneau. So maybe the easiest thing in your case is just open it once & forget it until Tivian’s ready to move on their fix?
