With Prime Day coming up, I thought this was a good time to put together a simple car upgrade checklist for anyone planning to refresh their setup.

A few things worth checking before the deals start:

• Interior protection: all-weather floor liners, bed mat, sunshade
• Roadside safety: jump starter, tire inflator, emergency kit
• Cleaning & detailing: car vacuum, cleaning wipes, detailing kit
• Driving tech: dash cam, phone mount, wireless charger
• DIY maintenance: OBD-II scanner, tire gauge, basic tools

Some upgrades are fun. Some are practical. And some, like custom-fit floor liners, are the kind you appreciate every single day — especially after spills, mud, rain, pets, kids, or road trips.

What car upgrade is on your list this year?

If/when our R2 arrives and accessories like the floor liners become available, those and a cargo area mat will be first on my list. I put some in our Model 3/Y and the easy cleaning makes life so good.

I use price trackers and plugins to try to de-scam Amazon, all around, and they always show that nearly nothing is an actual deal for Prime day.

If a product sells for $X normally, and on the Prime Days, it sells for less than $X, I don't see how it is a scam.

Perhaps these comments from reddit is just hunting for deals and not necessarily a particular item one is interested in?

Over the years, I have found things I wanted and if it's close to the PD, often I find it discounted during the period. Clearly not everything or item. Just some of them.

The scam is lying to you to make you buy things you might not otherwise buy, because it's "on sale." Of course, scams take two; a willing victim has to agree to be scammed.
