Saw this disturbing post on Reddit, so I thought I’d repush the PSA. This guy went off-roading with other non-rivian rigs and apparently branches easily caught on the front side panel/head light joint on both sides and lodged in enough to peel her like an onion. Since I’m heading out tomorrow for a trail run, I ran to Home Depot and bought some adhesive rubber weather stripping and stuffed the crack as a temporary/for-the-day measure to hopefully keep pine needles or a big bush out of my crack…

That's the time to use duct tape. The silver even matches your paint color.

Yeah, I got a bit nervous adhering that on the PPF and later removing, (which sounds odd-lol.) but you’re right.

Take it in to the sc and tell them the panels came like that, they'll probably just fix it. i'm sure they've seen worse alignment from the factory.

I uses Track Armour when i did a cross country trip. Its a little hard to see in the photo but if you install additional tape across the headlights and cover the frunk it would give you great protection. I only did the upper and lower lips

I’ve never had branches in my crack. Don’t want to find out what that is like.

Chainsaws aren't going to be much use for tiny branches. If you've ever offroaded in WA about this time of year, every trail is closed in by small bushes and branches. You can't go out without pinstriping.

I've not had this happen to me, despite going down many trails that are pretty overgrown. I can definitely see how it could happen tho.

I'm not 100% sure on what all is covered while offroading, but I know at least some things are (with Nationwide), so I'd be verifying whether this is covered under insurance or not.

That said, should definitely not be happening. Hope they do something for future vehicles to prevent this type of damage.

does anyone know of a product to help "heal" small branch scrapes on the paint, after a bit of off-roading? (Didn't get PPF ?)
