Purchased from independent dealer: how to remove previous owner's info?

I purchased an R1S from a dealership last week and have no idea how to get the prior owners info off and to set up phone as key. Help please

Once transfer is complete (2days - 2weeks) your name will change in vehicle and you should get prompted to setup in vehicle and then you should be able to setup phone as key

This forum is not owned by Rivian. Suggest you reach out to Rivian and have the information from the support document listed above.
Rivian is the only one able to make the changes in their systems for the update you need.

Purchased my R1t thru a dealer last year. Although dealer had clear title from previous owner the transfer of ownership thru Rivian was not smooth. Was able to drive using fob and key cards immediately but original owner and his family still showed on screen as having smartphone access. To start the process contact service unless you know your guide or previous owners guide and complete the change of ownership form which will require copies of a bill sale, completed registration, copy of drivers license and VIN

after I did this things still were moving slow. I contacted Rivian service and the individual suggested setting up a Skype type meeting via the guides calendar. Service also emailed the guide and asked why the process was taking so long. Within an hour my name appeared on the vehicle screen and in the App and I was able to set up my phones. good luck

I purchased from a bmw dealer and I followed the instructions on the link. Dealer cannot do anything except normal title transfer and registration.

correct other than supplying you with a purchase agreement showing you now own the vehicle the selling dealer is out of the picture once you drive away Then Rivian and yourself work out the details digitally.

I purchased a used R1T through a dealer. What I did was chat with Rivian support through the website and let them know I purchased a used R1T and needed to get in contact with the guide to get ownership transferred. Gave them the VIN and they gave me the contact information for the guide assigned to the VIN.

I contacted the guide and he responded with “Please attach a copy of the sales agreement and a copy of your driver's license to this email. I will be able to send the ownership transfer request to the team that will make the changes.” Sent the information over and within a couple days the R1T got transferred to my Rivian account. You’ll want to go ahead and create a Rivian account if you haven’t yet done so.

I bought through a dealer that was co-signed the truck. Contacted Rivian and sent them the bill of sale Andtitle paperwork. Took a few days

As others have stated, make sure you have a bill of sale and make a digital copy of it so you can send it to Rivian. My info was updated within 2 days.

have you guys have any hiccups in terms of warranty etc? my primary concern is the power tonneau if these would be any issues when replacements are rolled out. (for a independant used purchase)

nope warranty covered all of the little things that needed to be corrected on my r1s

Same here no hesitation to honor warranty on the vehicle. Have been in to service twice
