I have 3 lingering issues on my 2025 R1S and wondering if any of you have similar problems.

1. Is it normal to have to tap your steering wheel every 30-45 seconds when you hands free?

2. Have any of you had problems with your FM radio cutting out and simply stop working while sirius still works. (Brought it in once and the they replaced it, but still happening).

3. Do you consistently have a very loud humming noise when your fan is on (both heating and cooling)? video below

Thanks,
Brent

You have to touch the steering wheel if you are not in an enhanced zone (indicated by hands bouncing on and off of the steering wheel, vs just a steering wheel)

Yes, as signal gets good/bad, HD radio will cause it to fade in and out. Turning off HD radio can help a little but they still mute instead of play static.

Yes, but that seems louder than mine - worth a service ticket.

1. yes, 2. yes and 3. yes, welcome to having a gen2 R1S with noisy heat pump. granted I don't notice it much with AC vs lots of noise when heating. If you turn off heat the noise goes away. Also noticed level of noise tied to temperature. At high temp it will be very loud, dial back to 70 and it'll be quieter.

As noted in the first reply, 1 is yes only if you are not in an enhanced driving zone. If you are in an enhanced driving zone, you should not need to touch the steering wheel.

1. Yes.

2. Why do cars even have a radio at all in 2025?

3. Unfortunately this apparently is a carry-over from gen 1. Which seems odd. I had that when I first got the car, but then had a TSB service done specifically to fix the noise. And it mostly worked. It's not as loud, but also not as quiet as most cars.

1. At first I would touch the wheel because my previous vehicle wanted me to, so that seemed normal. Then I changed my mind to think when those hands come up is to let go of the wheel. I have driven for over an hour with no touch of the steering. Maybe I need to read the manual.

2. I don't listen to FM much. Have had XM cut out and not come back until I stop for a bit and it resets. Have had XM out of cellular range and not return when back in range until again stopped for a bit and restart the journey. Seems to be better lately so the concern is fading.

3. No loud humming unless the setting is calling for max fan due to large spread between set and actual temperature. I always use automatic mode unless DW starts messing with it. Then back to automatic.

Seems like the first 60 days of ownership some random items were a bit quirky. Now at 90 days in all seems to be very solid. Have yet to do a reboot. I would try to get a feel if there were some pattern of issues but seems to be doing better with time. I just try to ignore and it returns to normal next drive.
