I never post i just lurk but I just had to bring my 2023 R1T Quad Large in for some work and got to sit in the R2 and had a gen 2 R1S as a loaner. I felt compelled to share some feedback.

Service Quality:
I read so many horror stories about service but other than my first service visit to Brooklyn where the back corner of my R1T was damaged, my experiences have been good. The folks at Iselin where I primarily go now are very good. They are friendly, seem to care about the clients and they have a nice new large facility. Even with my poor experience at Brooklyn, they took care of the damage; was fixed with PDR and they compensated me beyond that. So for those on the fence about service concerns its not all doom and gloom. Remember most people will come here to post the good stuff.

R2 Thoughts:
1. The 2.0 software is unbelievably better. The responsiveness of switching screens is basically phone/Tesla smooth. The screens I would say while smaller fit the car fine and I had no issues interacting with it when I was sitting the service center with it.
2. I am 6'5" and I love the idea of having more rear seat room which is does compared to the R1's. However i did find there is less leg room for me especially with my left leg on the dead pedal. My knees are higher and more bent and I think that's going to be deal breaker for me.
3. The VIN of the one I sat in was 000284 and quality of the truck looked good.

R1S Gen2:
1. VIN was 52k and was a Dual Max with the off-road tires.
2. Gen 2 cameras are so much better than the G1's.
3. I hate the off road tires. This loaner had under 7k miles on it and the tires were loud. The truck requires alot more steering corrections too.
4. The software/screens are not as fast as the R2 but more responsive than my R1T Gen 1 truck.
5. I am not a fan of the ride of the R1S. The shorter wheelbase to me is noticeable and produces more a truckish ride. The R1T at least my Gen 1 has a much smoother ride.
6. Basic stereo in this truck.... I would not be happy with it long term.
7. The push button doors are fine but I do notice a slight lag when opening the doors from the outside. Not a big deal just sharing...
8. Dual motor is noticeably slower than my quad but for most is more than enough.
9. The sound quality of the doors closing when inside the truck is not as good as the Gen 1's.
10. I used the self driving a little bit and it overall worked well. I have had a few Tesla's and they are better still but Rivian's system does the job.
11. One huge positive here was this loaner did not exhibit all the clunks within the front suspension. I used this truck for a few days driving the same roads I take my T on and the S did not clunk and make all the noises my T makes. The suspension was quieter in that regard and was nice.

Thats it. Thanks for reading. Go Knicks!!!
