While I am very excited for Rivian with the launch of the R2. I want the company to do very well with this new vehicle. Additionally, I do share the excitement of the new R2 owners who have taken delivery of their vehicles. It's understandable that the Forum has been taken over by all topics R2. However, I am just 9 months into ownership of my new R1 Tri Max and my interest lies in these fantastic vehicles of ours. I'm interested in my fellow R1 owners and what we have to inquire about, complain about, share and praise.
Is it time to have an R1 specific Forum? One can always visit what would be a separate R2 Forum page. But we would have the Forum that we all came to know pre-R2 launch.

I hear you. I don’t know what the solution is other than sticking to the R1T and R1S specific sub-forums.

When I owned Land Cruisers I had zero interest in RAV4 topics and that’s how I equate R1 and R2.

One option is to put any R2 forum in your 'ignore forums list'
I agree this is the best option.

The number of R1 things to talk about had dwindled significantly over the last year. The forum was feeling pretty dead.

Now everything is R2 because the R2 is fresh with tons of new buyers with questions. This will taper off as R2 becomes more established and many of the questions have been answered. The number of R2 specific threads will grow as sales expand, then drop off as it becomes more normal.

And then R3 threads will be front and center...go Rivian!

I agree, but I think because the R1 focus will be shifting from what’s Rivian doing for the R1 to what’s an R1 owner doing to their R1, including repair as these get older and outside warranty.

Oh, honey, you should see YouTube, the glut of videos on "I've had my R2 for 3 hours, and here is my break down of the vehicle!" You gotta see this!!!!. I feel like I am the parent who let's their child order the grown-up "Rootie Tootie Fresh and Fruity" pancake stack at IHOP for the first time, and has to listen to how MARVELOUS it is and those are THE BEST PANCAKES in the WORLD! The enthusiasm is adorable, but gets a little long in the tooth after a while.

And as other participants have noted; there are plenty of other sub-forums on this site; just find one you want to follow and ignore the rest!

As time goes by, the R2 posts will overwhelm R1, far more than today.

There simply will be more R2 owners than R1 (hopefully), and if the similar percentage of owner participation as R1, anything other than R2 subject will be crowded out.

Agree that R1 needs a separate and distinct starting point. Maybe @Administrator can have the structure split into R1, R2/R3, EDV to start?

Okay, now I did not know that. Not sure whether now knowing the existence of these R1T and R1S sub forums changes my proposal, but I will certainly have a look.
