R1S 2022 launch edition , doesn’t turn on - auction

I have done some research and the car was bought in Sept 23 and he already stacked on it 23k miles on it. most probably a lot of dc charging.

That looks WAY better than the other, it starts and runs no problem. Just bumper, tailgate, and right quarter panel damage. I'd be curious if the roof is cracked, and what the battery percentage is.

How sure are you there is an HV battery at all? Is that guaranteed? I don't see that in the listing.

(I recall similar damaged/salvaged Tesla's purchased that had the HV battery removed).

Yes I sent an independent contractor and it seems they were trying to mess with the electrical wiring in the back seat. i am not going to pursue that car anymore.

Not necessarily, I think I put 25k on mine the first year and DC fast charged less than 10 times.

Okay, clean titled Rivians and clean cars are getting a maximum bid of 40k, and the sellers relist the cars. It seems people at auctions do not appreciate the brand! lucky me

I wouldnt touch either of the 2 you listed.. No titles. Bill of sale only. I would have to pay, in Washington, to have it titled assuming they will, and then bring it home to Colorado. To high of a stakes gamble for me.

There are certainly better options out there.. Just have to get out of your Washington zone, or have it delivered.

The point is, there are better options out there if you want a builder.

Personally, I would NOT want to rebuild a Rivian. They barely have their act together enough to sell cars, let alone repair them. You would have to buy second hand parts because Rivian will not sell most body parts to John Q, Public. And if you had a body shop to the replacement, if its not a Rivian Certified repair center, they cant get parts.

Theres way to many gotcha's to even consider Rivian for a extensive repair.

Yes there are a few that I am watching so I can rebuild them. Only because I know what repairs they need, and I know I could do them without getting Rivian involved.

Heres the bigger fear... If Rivian will honor their factory warranty on a vehicle that has been run thru a rebuilders auction. This is a HUGE unknown. And if Rivian doesnt, those are bills I would not want if a battery, or drive unit, needs replacement.

Most manufactures wont, but there are a few that will.

Edit: Some manufactures wont even sell you parts for a car that has been run thru a rebuilders auction.

Something funky on that first one. It originally rolled thru the auction on 3/12/2024 and pending sold for $40500 since? CoPart does not hold cars that long.

The black one has rolled thru the auction MANY times, for 9 months now. Not sold for $24000, Not sold for $51000, Not sold for $35000, not sold for a undisclosed amount, and not sold for $38250. I think the seller, who is a private individual, is hoping to get retail for it. The miles and title support it. But CoPart doesnt do retail. I would bet his reserve is likely $65000.

pending sold since yesterday , I have done my research on the red one using vin doctor and carfax and i am not sure where is the poop but i have the same feeling as you. it was sold to luxury used car place and i am not sure why they decided to auction it instead of retail
