I average 1.99 KW on city, highway, and the long road trip.Thank you. Much appreciated.
I happen to have bought the same wheels except semi-gloss. So far I just swapped the OE Pirelli ATs to the new wheels. I intend to get better tires when I wear these out, but have not decided which yet.
Although range is not now as big a concern for me as it was originally, I am curious about how your wheel/tire setup has impacted range compared to the OE setup. My Thuren wheels + OE tires weigh in just over 96 lbs. which I think is about 10 lbs. more than OE combination. So far (2800 miles) my overall average is 2.04 mi/kwh 95% in All Purpose.
Although I did not measure acceleration with the OE wheel/tire I have with the heavier Thuren wheel/OE tire which I expected to really slow it down. Using Racebox Mini it measured 3.38 sec. 0-60 mph, and the AT tires squeal (traction control off) all the way into mid 40’s mph. ATs are not good at all for drag racing, but that’s not main reason I have the vehicle.
I like the looks of your S with those wheels/tires … a little prejudiced bcuz I have exact same color S. I’m heading to AZ in a few weeks to do some off-roading with my son. Don’t know yet where he is planning to take me, but will be first time off-road in my R1S. Really anxious to see how it does, and was excited to read about your experience. Thanks for sharing.
The Wildpeak R/T is an aggressive R/T more towards The M/T type. Really good extra sidewall protection. Really like them so far. They do have some slight road noise right at about 50 to 60mph but slower and faster they are silent. I like that they are D rating vs. E for a little more sidewall flex on rocky terrain in theory. You might also consider the Nitto Ridge Grapler as one of my favorite tires and a little less agressive, always quite, and E rated in metric equivalent if prefer that.
