I have many items from RPM Tesla (same company as RPM RIV) and they are all really well-made. I am also very curious about this mattress and would love some feedback from anyone who has tried it. The price seems good vs the ExPed Megamat Auto and possibly even more comfortable.
I did end up pulling the trigger on this about a year ago. Positives: it’s comfortable. So comfortable that my wife didn’t mind sleeping on it, and she is very picky. Negatives: it’s huge. It really takes some work to pack it down, and even then it takes up a substantial amount of space. And because it’s memory foam, they recommend you store it not rolled up. So you’ll need some space to store it as well.

Thanks for the reply. I imagine the same negatives apply to the ExPed mats, as I believe they are the same concept and materials. As for the RPM version, it would seem as though they only have one size, which they sell across all Tesla models and the R1S without any differentiation. How well would you say it fits? Is somewhat small for the space and leave gaps? I would think that the footprint of a any Tesla is smaller than the R1S by a somewhat significant amount.

If you're considering the Exped MegaMat Duo 10 and wondering about the size difference between the Long Wide Double and Medium Double, here's my take:

My wife and I opted for the Long Wide Double (77.6 x 52 x 4 inches) and, although it's not a perfect fit in our Rivian R1S, we love the additional space. The extra width at the top is a game-changer, and at 6'2", I appreciate the added length. To make it work, we deflate the pad slightly before placing it in the R1S, then inflate it once it's in position. It's a bit of a hassle, but we'd rather deal with that than the gaps we experienced with the Medium Double (72 x 41 x 4 inches).

UPDATE: Couple of upgrades I forgot to mention:

1. 1-2" memory foam topper on top of the Expedition makes it truly a luxury experience.

2. Finding a sheet/cover for the Megamat Auto was not easy, but the one offered by Luno Life fits fairly well, especially with the 2" memory foam topper. It acts to hold the topper and mattress together too.

For stowage (2-passenger setup), I just keep the 2nd and third row seats folded down, and just fold the entire mattress in half up right behind the front seats, like a taco. When arriving at camp, just empty the cargo and unfold the mattress - done!
What topper are you using? The mega at is great but it’s a little too firm. I’m looking into the lumo topper. Since it seems to be the only portable/camp friendly one available but not sure if it will fit the mega mat auto.

I just used a generic memory foam mattress from Amazon (there are many there to choose from with varieties of thickness), cut to fit the proportions of the Megamat Auto. I like the Luno R1S mattress solution since it appears you can fold it in half when underway, making room for gear while in transit. I'd prefer one that folded in half horizontally though, for that purpose, not vertically like the Luno (though I get the idea of being able to use it a a single-person solution).
