I figure I’ve waited a year, I can probably deal with another week or two…it’s still not easy though I keep only putting half a tank of gas in our Volvo in preparation for trading it in…
Unfortunately I’m pretty sure it needs some sort of repair. It had a red “hold” tag hanging from the mirror when I saw it last weekend. I didn’t see any paint/body damage but the tonneau cover was open where as it was closed on most of the other trucks awaiting PDI…our guide was going to try and get us an update.

so are you saying when you got your window on the 31st…your 8 steps opened at the same time? Was that a second email or did they reach out directly?

Is there any point in chronically checking the configurator page / account page. Seems like if you don’t get an email to confirm config your turn is not up. I just thought I read some people not getting guide access on the account page without an email.

Preordered Sept. 2021 and latest window was 12/22-1/23. Received the "Begin Purchase Process" 10/20, spoke to my guide 10/27, vehicle was in transit to Chelsea, MA SC last I heard. Charger and swag have arrived, so just keep hitting refresh for step 8 (schedule delivery) to open up.


Config: (Bounced between El Cap and Forest Green, FG finalized) 20" ATs, Underbody, no tonneau.

You received the exclusive pre-broken tonneau option.

I checked the page every day but nothing changed. Once I received the confirm your configuration email everything started to open. Note: I think (only my opinion) that once you receive that email, they have a truck matching your config ready to be assigned. If you change your config during the confirmation process you’ll get re-queued until it’s your turn again.

I immediately confirmed my config as-is and received a VIN and guide within hours. The truck was at the CS a week later (or earlier). FYI - ordered 11/9/21, confirm your config email 10/21/22, picked up at CS 11/2/22 (51 weeks).

Congrats from Long Island!

Did anyone mention anything about your registration being passenger or commercial?
Apparently there is some sort of weight restriction or something and NY DMV would only register the R1T as a commercial vehicle which precludes you from using any of the Parkways in NY. Supposedly Rivian was working with NYS to clear up the issue so we could register as a passenger vehicle vs. forced to register as a commercial vehicle.
