No way. This gentleman was just out for a leisurely drive through a random field and his Rivian went haywire and flipped over. It was so puzzling that he posted all over the internet about how he had Rivian techs come look at the truck to figure out how it could possibly happen! ?

Or, my other working theory is one of these Kevin Bacon Tremors worms came up right as he was slowly plodding along through that field.

So let's straighten up a couple of things:

1. The truck did not "suddenly roll". I never said that. I said it "unexpectedly rolled". If I had an inkling of a reservation about it rolling I would not have driven into the field.

2. There is nothing in any pictures online that show the truck path, or anything about what happened. It rolled from the left relative to any picture online and never traveled at all on anything in the right of these pictures.

3. Rivian was contacted by me and I asked them to look at the crash data and "explain to me what I did wrong". I told them exactly what happened. They downloaded the crash data and called me next day to ask if they could send engineering to the site to walk through it with me.

4. Engineers were out there very quickly, looked at everything they could find data-point wise as well as my exact experience.

5. My insurance received the same information and ruled me at fault hence the collision designation on the iia listing.

6. I'm not blaming Rivian, never have. Rivian initiated everything about getting engineering to investigate everything.

7. I was driving so it's my fault, I can accept that.

8. You don't have details because if I share anything about the situation particulars while Rivian is also investigating their data that's just bad business on my part.

9. If you think daddy bought this truck for me then feel free to call me Daddy sonny.
would love to hear an update about the investigation of the data. Or you could just tell us what you actually did. TIA

I'm going to guess stuff happens and someone just tried to break the laws of physics.

This guy’s biggest mistake was not having a VC brother with a large twitter following.

Yes, it was a 3/4 roll. I have YouTube and post history that could relate to what I believe, and felt, "went wrong". But I still would trust Rivian's analysis over my own inclinations about it.
so what was the result of Rivian's analysis?

I just re-came across articles about this after reading about the Cybertruck that was spotted after a reported rollover test.

Found this thread and was hoping some more information had trickled out since the original articles, but I guess not.

I really don’t understand the mystery theater surrounding this. It’s a simple car accident. Probably tens of thousands happen per day. Why is the at-fault driver acting like it’s some Top Secret FBI investigation or something? Ridiculous; someone wants to feel speshul.

In this case the simplest answer is probably the correct one: driver rolled their truck, nothing special/extenuating compared to any other driver rolling their truck. As evidenced by insurance not going after Rivian or the maker of the earth the Rivian was driving on.
