If it was a battery issue, your truck would be on fire. That's a lot of extra energy being dumped to no-where. I can get nearly 3 mi/kWh in conserve on my slow short commute in the winter time if the wind is at my back, and traffic is such that I'm driving much slower and forced to accelerate at a snails pace, but typically it's more like <1.5 if I'm able to drive like I stole it.
The variations we get in efficiency and vampire drain amongst owners seems pretty wide. In about 45 of ownership days I’ve averaged maybe 1.5 at best in 30-50 degree temps. On a 2 hour road trip I was finally able to get up to 1.9 on the highway going about 70, presumably because the battery heated up enough. My vampire drain is awful though - drove about 8 miles over a 4 day stretch and lost 26% battery. It’s not normally that bad, but about 4% per day is normal for me.

I can’t fathom ever getting to 3 kWh/mile except in perfect conditions. Are you having really low vampire drain as well by any chance?

Probably close to 2-3% per day on average in these temperatures. If the truck sits unplugged, the battery is allowed to get colder, so it's obvious that it's using more energy on a consistent basis if it's plugged in overnight (which it usually is).

I had unplugged my truck at 85% mid saturday and it was 79% when I got in this morning without pre-conditioning. It ran climate a few times as I walked by it over the weekend. The power and regen limits this morning were significantly worse than it usually is if left plugged in.

I try to get in the habit of turning the climate off if it's going to sit unused but I don't always remember. I wouldn't mind being given an option to default climate to being off after every drive. It doesn't save much by pre-heating for that extra 10 seconds before getting in, but it sure does suck down a lot of energy if I'm not actually going to use the truck.
