We have an R1T that now has almost 7,000 miles on it. We are running the 21" Pirelli road tires on the OEM Rivian wheels. Most of our driving is local in a somewhat rural area. I have been inspecting the tires on a regular basis. All are showing 7/32" tread depth. There is no sign of any irregular tread wear. We have not had any driving irregularities or pulling of any kind even at high speeds. My question is do I go ahead and rotate and balance at this point, or do I leave things alone? My concern is that a tire rotation and balance will create more problems than it fixes.

Honestly, if tread wear is that even, you probably don't need it.

My Tesla wore evenly so much that they never had to be rotated even after 30k miles.

Some will probably just say go ahead and do it though.

I have 20” ATs and just hit 8k. Rivian mobile service was out to my house a couple weeks ago and I asked him and said I should be good well past 10k, before I need a rotation, but I had dropped the car off at SC last and just had them take care of the 7500 service to save a trip. It’s all based on your driving and how long you want to go before service.

Rivian recommends rotation every 5,000 miles. I will probably double that since my wear is even as well. At 14k I still have 8/32ns in the middle. I have only had one rotation and that was at about 12k.

No need to balance at all unless your having issues. Rotation only.

I am leaning toward leaving well enough alone and monitoring tread wear.

I have 21’s. Just replaced all tires at 34k miles. All had even wear. I only did one rotation, it was around 11k. I think (antidotal), if u run in Conserve mode u will DEFIANTLY put more wear on the fronts. I did. Started running mostly in all-purpose and there was little uneven wear.
