Porsche Macan EV (Future R2 owner)
I've had a base Macan EV for about a year now after 3 Teslas (Model S, Model 3 mid, Model 3 long range). It is a great vehicle, but I got a smoking deal when the EV credit was still available. I won't get that again, so probably won't be in another Macan. Fit and finish has been what I expect from Porsche, but it is at a cost. It's replacement will probably be an R2 or maybe the BMW iX3. I just got some seat time in the iX3 at a local Ultimate Driving Experience, and it is definitely worth a look. I was highly impressed. Great range, great charging, and it is the right size for me. The space isn't as important to me, so you could run into the size issue that you did in the Macan. It will come down to driving the R2 and iX3 back to back for me. Good luck in the search.

Agree. We had a Porsche Cayenne on order and decided to go R2 instead.

The lack of one pedal driving on the Porsches is what was the final straw that killed them for us as contenders. As a long time EV driver I couldn't go back to an EV without one pedal driving.
To be fair, one pedal driving only became an EV “thing” because Tesla could not get the regen and friction braking to blend correctly and they (Elon) decided to present it as a feature. Having had a Taycan and with a Macan Turbo EV on order I will say that I prefer their coasting approach much more. I don’t mind the one pedal on my R1S, but I am still never sure it is going to stop in time.

To the OP, buy what you can afford that will make you happy. One thing with Porsche is you will always wonder if you should have “checked an option” box and been happier. So build it out how you want it and see if you can justify the pricing. I have been happy with my R1S Tri (had it for a little over 1 month) and for what it is, it is great, no issues with the suspension comfort, it is better than my G580 and my husband’s F-150.

After owning 3 Rivians, I will not consider ICE again. I've been a Porsche enthusiast but Porsche EVs are way overpriced for what you'll get as an EV. Since the R2 is about 1/3 the price of the Cayenne EV, I will replace the Cayenne Turbo Coupe with the R2 Performance in Launch Green and Coastal Cloud as soon as I get the invite to order, hopefully soon.

I'm not interested in any other EV. They're either ugly or not good enough.
