Apparently not, especially when something launches. Also a couple of folks from Wisconsin and Minnesota say they don’t even have the option to lease an R1. I’m not sure why.Isn't leasing always an option?

Apparently archaic laws, I guess.I wonder why Minnesota and Wisconsin don’t offer leasing? Is someone blocking Rivian legislatively?
Le models are never supposed to be the cheeper version of any car ever. Even at $65k they will sell every one they can make. The lower cost trims DM non P and RWD will come later. Also I suspect this will be all that’s made until LiDAR versions are available. Personally I would take a DMP at $65k vs the iX3 50.Absolutely agree. $59,900 is what I feel a mass market will tolerate. We will know s00n.
We need to abolish the dealership model in the US. It’s mostly full of scam artists, thieves, and hard sellers intent on ripping people off. Cut out the middlemen and let automakers sell direct to customers. Then you would see more competitive pricing and less mark up. The service-as-a-profit-center is bullshit too. Forty-five to 55 percent margins! I’d rather be sold services that I can actually use, like premium internet or autonomous driving for a long trip, instead of being ripped off.Apparently archaic laws, I guess.
Still Can’t Lease a Rivian in Your State? Here’s Why https://share.google/o6exHR9l9gBtqSCjw
Good idea because of the rapidly changing/upgraded tech (if you can keep within the allotted mileage). That said, month to month cheaper, and cheaper overall are very different. It's use-case (and individual financial variable) dependent....I’m leasing now with an option to do a buyout. I see nothing wrong with it. It’s much cheaper than buying new. Nearly 80% of EVs are leased. Probably due to the expense and rapidly changing technologies.
Yes, lots of variables. I paid extra to take my mileage limit to 15K a year. I didn’t put anything down. I mostly commute to work, go to the store, and take shorter 4-hour roundtrip journeys every couple of months to visit relatives and in-laws. Luckily there are Superchargers along the route in both directions that we go. I want to make sure the R2 can make it there and back. One of the Superchargers might be a V2 and I’m not as familiar with non-Tesla chargers yet. I plan on messing around with ABRP to figure it out, but I’ve heard the new update sucks.Good idea because of the rapidly changing/upgraded tech (if you can keep within the allotted mileage).
