so much hype on the R2... I've been away for a long time on this forum. And as I read all of the hype of the reveal last week, this screen clip just came into my head and had to share:

VW ID4, R2 (on order); Prev: R1T QM, Model S, Model 3, Model Y
I went today (reservation for is actually for tomorrow). You can just walk right up. The cars are outside. It took someone 30 minutes or so to even ask to check me in and they signed me up as a walkup.

I'm also going back with my girlfriend tomorrow so that she can see it and I'll get some additional photos/videos/ask questions.

So far the tidbits I got are (EDITED):
  • Frunk has a touch button just below the front light bar (it's hard to see, but three small lines).
  • The front right passenger door has a removable USB-C based portable charger where the flashlight is on the other side.
  • The R2 is a silver color, which is not LA silver but has not be named yet. The interior color is also a new shade blue/green and not named yet.
  • The charge port door location has received a ton of feedback since the unveiling. It sounds like they may be rethinking that location after all, but TBD.
  • Whether or not the vehicle will have ventilated seats is TBD, but they are not advertising it.
  • The R2 has a drive stalk and windshield wiper stalk still, I saw some asking about this since you couldn't tell in the presentation.
  • There will be ultra sonic sensors.
  • The rear seats have an electronic fold down function.
  • There appears to only be one 120v outlet, in the rear cargo area, it is expected to be 1.5kw like R1.
  • Both front seats have lumbar support. :)
  • The light bar on the front has a slant to the bottom of it, it's not flat against the vehicle like on R1.

Thanks for the write up. I woke up feeling under the weather and decided driving 4ish hours round trip for basically a look around wasn't worth it. I'm sure there will be more opportunities as they get closer to production.
