Recommendations for coffee mug holder.

Looking for something that will hold a standard coffee mug with handles. Tired of spilling my coffee that I rest on the center console charging pad every time I hit the breaks.

If you have access to a 3d printer, there are a ton of cup holder "inserts" that have a cutout for a handle.

Here's a random one I clicked on in Google images:

These 3MF or STL files exist everywhere and probably take an hour to print if you can find a buddy to do it for you. Probably $1 or less in filament (then again maybe you want something better than PLA/PLA+ if it'll sit in the heat of your car in the summer).

I've been looking at this. I like that I can declutter the center console (charging pad) and hang my dark glasses case and a small trash bag on the side. would you say that a standard coffee cup with a handle would fit in the larger cup holder? If it's not too much trouble, would you mind measuring the distance between the cup holder and the floor (bottom) of the cage? Thank you.

Drive more cautiously with a hand on your mug or get something with a lid that fits in the cup holders. Yeti 20oz tumbler fits perfectly and contains spills.

Nope, it only spills when the mug falls over. If it doesn't fall over it doesn't spill. I don't break that hard.

Just putting this out there - a custom solution could cost more than an insulated coffee mug that fits the Rivian cup holder. Not saying you should do this - just another option that could save you from finding a solution that would need to fit both the mug and the Rivian. Which I've found tricky to do.

While I understand the obsession with 3D prints, it is often better to eliminate a problem than to solve a problem that need not exist.

Love my 20oz Yeti Rambler (Rivian branded). The tapered shape fits PERFECTLY in the OEM cupholders and you will never spill a drop, maybe not even if you flip the truck.
