Reinstalling rear view mirror

While installing the Joining us today us today power tap for my radar detector into the rearview mirror; the mirror came completely off. I’ve tried and don’t seem to be able to get it reattached so I can get the shroud back in place. Anyone run into this problem and have a solution?

There are threads on it, I commented in one of those. IIRC, you rotate 45 degrees clockwise before pushing it in, and then rotate counterclockwise to lock it.
