Hi all—After the last major update (with the new UI theme), the car has been “forgetting” my ride height settings (Low and non-auto), resetting back to Standard/Auto every time I restart the car. Same with keeping the lower vents open; on each restart they close again.

Thoughts/advice?

If you have a Dual Motor, the drive mode settings are reset 4 hours after your last drive. This is done intentionally.

Note to self: don't ever buy a dual motor. Is that going to become a thing for tri and quad motor variants going forward? I'm in Sport mode more often than not and, thankfully, my Gen1 Quad persists this setting. It's frustrating enough as it is to have to turn on the 3rd row vents for the dogs every time we go somewhere, I'd hate to have to change the drive mode too. Settings should be persistent until I change them. That goes for music source and playlist settings as well (which should be persistent but currently are not). Would be approaching Space Shuttle launch sequence complexity to have to manually turn on 3rd row vents, manually select your music source, and then manually set the drive mode.

The drive mode issue is particularly annoying given that it is required by the EPA to align by default with how their near worthless (especially for EVs) range estimates are determined. I don't care about their estimates and how I use the vehicle shouldn't be bound by those tests. I mean, taken to the extreme, they could theoretically mandate that acceleration be limited to no more than that used to determine range ratings to ensure we replicate test loop conditions. This isn't a new issue though, having to set the drive mode every trip used to drive me nuts with my Volvo too.

That's very helpful, thank you! I do have the dual motor model.
There are multiple threads about this. It was done to all Dual models in a pretty underhanded way - no announcements, they just snuck it in to the software and a blurb in the owner's manual.
If you don't like it, put a complaint in with customer service. Maybe if enough people do this, they'll change it back. Maybe not.

Maybe I lack sufficient search tool skills, as I half expected a "this has already been on multiple threads" response.

Maybe, but search here does suck.

There's a reason you can pull the google search results through with this button:

It's much less terrible.
Yeah, I was about to edit and add that tidbit. But I'm slow ?

FTR, I didn't mean this as a scold on not searching. Only pointing out that there are a LOT of us pissed off about this "feature" and you should complain.

Thanks, I’ll speak up about it.

The vehicle has to default in whichever mode they did the EPA range tests on. In this case all purpose with auto height.
I have set my r1s dual motor gen 1 to low height. I noticed today it would start with standard and over a long trip it automatically went to low. I noticed this multiple times.
