?????That looks bad.
I love the current headlights
?You literally came to a Rivian board....with nothing to do with the product, to complain about the looks and post the worst photo shopped picture of all time as a replacement.
Did you expect a kumbaya moment?
I also think the Model S is the best looking Tesla.I bought a Model S, which I think is the best looking out of all the Tesla's. I purchased it before the Rivian came out. Never said I wouldn't spend money on a Rivian. I would really like to get a taller ev for ground clearance. That is why I am interested in the R1T. Also, you are generalizing Tesla owners. I am not part of a Tesla cult. I do not get in a tizzy when someone says something about Tesla. I could care less. Why do people get so defensive. It is like I said something about their kid.
You are absolutely correct on the ice build up on the headlights. LED runs to cool to melt it off. Also, I wonder if there also isn't enough air moving across them to clear the ice and snow. They could also add a warmer to them. I am curious what their upcoming designs bring.I also think the Model S is the best looking Tesla.
When I first saw the Rivian prototypes at the L.A. Auto Show I wasn’t a fan. However, the first time I saw a Rivian heading towards me on a road, I instantly knew what it was from very far away. I think they were smart to make a unique look. Over time I’ve come to love the look of the headlights, especially the detail up close.
Regarding ice and snow buildup, I think the shape of the headlights isn’t the problem. It‘s the cool-running LEDs with no engine nearby to provide any heat. I think Rivian should add headlight washers in the future. This would take care of ice, snow, mud, and dirt.
You are really good with emoji's.?????
They could add a warmer but that only solves the issue of ice and snow building up. I think many manufacturers go with washers because they do that AND help with dirt, bugs, etc., no matter what the temperature is. I’m pretty sure I remember reading that washers are required in the EU so implementing headlight washers isn’t all that unusual. You are absolutely correct on the ice build up on the headlights. I had them ceramic coated, certain snows I've had to commute through it didn't make a difference. It's not every snow but there are certain ones where it'll block the entire front end. Too many wild conditions living at high altitude.Apply Rainx or turtle wax ceramic coating to the headlights. Lots of people have said this fixes the issue
That makes 1!That looks bad.

I agreed with you in 2018. But Tesla decided to show the world what horror automotive designers are capable of in 2019 and changed my mind about Rivian.I truly believing that if Rivian came out with a round headlight similar to the Jeep Wrangler they would have pulled a lot more customers. Everyone I talk to love the truck except for the headlights. I feel the same.
I actually read some months ago, I can't remember where, that Rivian chose their design for their headlights because they did studies and found that vertical headlights projected more light on the area in front of them than horizontal headlights. Thus, giving drivers more illumination both on and off road.I truly believing that if Rivian came out with a round headlight similar to the Jeep Wrangler they would have pulled a lot more customers. I know looks are subjective but…..I definitely prefer the current front end vs. this.
