Rivian Lease Terms regarding relocating to different state

I am awaiting delivery of a 2025 R1S which I am planning on leasing. In approximately 9 to 12 months, I plan on moving to the mid-west. Does anyone know if I will have any issues with the Lessor (Chase) regarding registering the vehicle in a different state?

My Rivian advisor was unable to assist with this and didn't have anyone I could speak to at Chase to discuss the lease terms.

I was told it wouldn’t be an issue. Can’t see how it would be a problem, people move all the time.

Its not a problem once the lease is in place.

The problem is on the origination of the lease, and why only some states are allowed. This is not a problem for you.

I will echo what others have said. People move constantly. I believe the only location issue is when entering into the lease agreement. Once you have the agreement in place and you move it should follow you to your new state.

Note that when you move you might end up paying sales tax again. Move to TX and they will tax the full market value of the vehicle.

Same with Colorado.... I think this is the same in every state, except Wyoming, and one other that I cant remember.

Not related to leasing, but does Rivian have any SC's nearby? Would be a pain to drive hours to get vehicle fixed/serviced since I doubt mobile service will be available.

Interesting, California has a ton of taxes but they only charge sales tax when moving into the state if you purchased the vehicle within the last 12 months.

Dont know a lot about California.... The only thing I do know is dont buy a vehicle from California if you are from another state. They charge you sales tax in California, even if you are not registering it there.

Edit: And the money you paid for that sales tax in California does not transfer to your new state.
