Rivian R1S liftgate not opening when pushing button

Sorry if this was already posted on the site, I couldn't find it. We noticed at home that the button to open the liftgate does not work. I believe it makes a sound, but will not open the tailgate, even with the R1S unlocked. I do have proximity locking/unlocking turned off at home, so maybe this is causing it? I can go into the car and open it that way.

Any idea what I am doing wrong here? Thanks!

File a service request. If the truck is unlocked and it doesn't open, then something is probably wrong (might be as simple as a connector is loose).

Does the button close the tailgate?

There is an “enable power tailgate” option in the settings next to “enable power front trunk”… no sure if those are the exact words. But double check your setting is enabled.

Does the liftgate unlock? If so, are you able to manually pull it up to fully open?
I had an issue where the liftgate only went up part way. I was told that the liftgate height can be programmed by holding the button for a few seconds at the desired height (at least that was the input).

You might want to check that it didn't get set to the closed position.

It was not opening at all. I made some changes to the locking/unlocking settings and proximity settings, so will see if that helps. Will report back.

The only time I have had an issue with the liftgate, is if I haven't closed the tailgate all of the way.

If I recall, it beeps at you when you attempt to close the liftgate and the tailgate isn't fully latched.

I don't recall it beeping at me, but I could be wrong.
