^^^ Perfect example of entitlement. The company doesn't owe you anything for your so-called "loyalty".

If you're so sure the stock will tank then put your money where your mouth is and short it.

I hear that everyone who purchases the full 175 shares through Morgan Stanley get automatically moved to the front of the delivery line.
(I'm kidding!!!! But wouldn't it be cool? Not really, FIFO is the way to go)

See here's the thing, @mitchel674 and other entitled folks like myself are exactly the target audience for the higher-end Rivian products. They are supposed to be electric versions of the Land Rover and other such snobby products we are so accustomed. We're sticking our dollars out there for years, and haven't gotten a single Thank You box from Rivian, let alone a car we haven't yet paid for! If Rivian cannot predict our needs and meet them timely, and also sell us shares at a discount, we will happily go back to Dino-fart driven Rover boxes instead. #ToxicBroCulture

Real talk: I think we're all tired of the wait, ready for the product, and over the terrible communications guided by the Chief Growth Officer. Under-promise and over-deliver, in the words of the great Uncle RJ, are clearly token. We need to accept Rivian as any other tech start-up rather than a "game changer."

Hmmmm, not sure how I feel about this. Anyone change their allocation amount on the bad news this week? I’m feeling uneasy about it to be honest, I may decrease how much I invest

Rivian is not setting the price, the market is. Rivian would be foolish to sell the IPO shares at a discount to what the market would pay.

Sure if they set it lower the price would surge after the IPO (and people would make a bunch of money) but then they would loose capital they could have raised.
It does indeed seem like many miss the point of the stock market. And that demand drives price. That of course has little to do with regard to what the price will do in the hours, day, and weeks post IPO.

IMHO I think the increase in price is a positive sign. I'm going to max out the IPO offering and buy more if RIVN drops. Rivian has a huge advantage in it's design (not so over the top ie:Cybertruck), appears to be environmentally conscious (pleasing a certain demographic), quad motor performance, has no long term burden of legacy expenses, and has a premium enough interior to separate itself from Ford Lightning and Hummer. The van contract with a superpower Amazon almost guarantees cash flow. To me, this looks like a no brainer. I'm also planning on holding for years. I made the mistake of selling Tesla at $35. And $90. And $175. Buy and hold if you believe in the company. Ignore what the "experts" say, half the time it's to manipulate the stock price in their favor.

Cramer's remarks are misplaced. No one (or hardly anyone) believes that Rivian will be the next Tesla. The question really is, which company will be the #2 EV company after Tesla, and Rivian has a better chance than others at grabbing the crown.

Rivian has more models and more orders than Lucid, it has vehicles for both commercial and retail markets, it has R2 vehicles in the development pipeline, it's eyeing new factory locations at home and abroad while laying plans for expansion at Normal, and it's expanding the scope of its businesses, both vertically and horizontally (SAAS, insurance, fleet management, batteries, etc.).

Rivian doesn't have the legacy problems of established auto makers (product lines that are ICE based), employees, suppliers and dealers are that ICE but not EV savvy, plus the debt and pension liabilities of old school makers. Sure, buy Ford or GM if you think they're going to turn their ocean liners of a company around in a year or two, but that still shouldn't dissuade you from investing in some Rivian shares too. It's not an either-or proposition. It's a race to be #2, not #1.
