Does anyone think that Rivian will have a referral program like Tesla to get free charging?

I asked CS the other day and they will not as of right now AFAIK.
It would be more expensive for them until they get their RAN up. Right now they would have to pay one of the other charging networks for your use.

For Tesla it was cheaper as they were paying their cost not someone else’s retail. Even if they negotiated a special rate it would be expensive.

It would make more sense to do a SWAG credit or future RAN credit program if they felt the need to have a program.

SANZCO2,

For a lot of reasons, I love your idea of awarding future RAN credits. It gives Rivian time to set up their charging system while also allowing time to create a referral system and begin tracking sales activity. As you stated, Rivian wouldn't have to pay other charging providers their rate, they'd only have to provide us with electricity at their cost.

Another option would be merchandise credits for their upcoming store and/or towards optional equipment/accessories for our vehicles. Even a small credit towards a big purchase helps. Imagine a Camp Kitchen for the bargain price of $4,750!

Let's refer each other and get a head start! ????

I think Tesla having an incomplete BETA product factored into their referral decision. RIVIAN is putting out a fully baked product ( I Hope! ) so their referral program would be in the form of a discount maybe on accessories or upgrades, if they ever needed one.

But I like the idea of giving insurance discounts!

As an Insurance agent, I'm really looking forward to seeing how the partnership with Nationwide works out. More than just the rates, I'll be interested to see what extra services they make available that other carriers may not have. If it's truly revolutionary, and the rates are solid, I won't hesitate to make the jump. I hope to see the entire offering soon.
