Hi - I've got a question on chargers that I want to tap into tribal knowledge about.

I've completed all the steps I can, and just waiting to schedule delivery. In the mean time my Rivian wall charger just shipped and should be here in a couple of days. I have a Tesla wall charger that I have been using for a couple of years, mostly recently with my mustang Mach-e (with adapter). I know that this setup will charge the R1T - but trying to understand if there are any benefits to ripping it out and putting in the Rivian charger? Does anyone know if there are any specific integrations / ease of use features I won't get with a third party charger? Wondering what the Rivian charger gives me besides aesthetics and power.

As a side note, my tesla charger is setup with a pig tail on NEMA-4/50. So I am only running 40A. The tesla charger is actually capable of up to 80 Amps (its a gen 2), so regardless I am probably going to upgrade the wiring and hardwire either the Tesla or Rivian chargers for faster speed (48 Amps).

Thanks for guidance.

I used a Gen 3 Tesla wall charger and an adapter when I first got my R1T. Recently switched it out for the Rivian wall charger and upgraded the circuit to 60 amps. Other than the physical benefit of the cable being 25' so it reaches both parking spaces (the Gen 3 has a shorter cable), the only other "advantage" I've seen thus far is that I can add the Rivian charger to my app and see charging history.

Even then, the charging history is limited because it lists the time the cable is plugged into the vehicle, not the actual "charge" time. It also doesn't recognize my Rivian and just lists it as an "unknown vehicle", the same thing it does when used with our Model X.

Others may have more experience, but in my case the only real benefit compared to a Gen 3 Tesla wall charger is the longer cable and not needing an adapter, though now we use an adapter for the Model X.

This is good data thanks. My gen 2 charger is 20 foot which is enough for me. Was hoping for tighter integration/data.
