The way you use CP, Apple can track where you drive, where you eat, where you sleep, where you hike, where you run, where you ride, where you do everything.
LOL! Delusional. That kind of total misunderstanding helps explain some of this thread.

Also you meant federate not federalize.

So Apple doesn't know where you listen to podcasts? Certainly they can technically, so you must believe they purposely don't capture that information. Which to me is a little naive. But maybe you are right, and Apple is the only tech company that never uses their data for commercial purposes. Right.

And yes, I meant federate. Using one app and one ecosystem everywhere gives too much personal data to one entity. IMO, anyway.

Apple doesn’t use your data for commercial purposes, they are google. Read the user/privacy agreement. CarPlay is just a mirroring technology it know nothing of what you are doing. It’s the apps you run, if they are not apples apps then you are bound by the developers privacy agreement.

One of my favorite things ever is suddenly getting served obscure ads on the web because of a recent in-person conversation the local technology has eaves-dropped on.

Yep. That happens to my wife all the time. She has an iPhone, BTW.

Right. I don't believe it. If you are running in their environment, they are able to track what you are doing there. They would have to purposefully not capture it. Maybe you are right and they actually don't use the data they can easily get. Maybe. Or maybe not. I believe the financial motive is significant enough to outweigh any high minded privacy concerns.

So Apple doesn't know where you listen to podcasts?
First off, not sure if you decided to change the bogus claim, but it was allegedly that CARPLAY specifically does that. It absolutely does not, that's well known and easily proven.

I use a non-Apple podcast app. How do you suppose Apple would know where I listen to podcasts?

Even if I used the Apple app, it doesn't have GPS permissions. So it doesn't know where I am.

Apple goes far out of their way to make sure THEY can't even access your data. You know that right?

Your entire post shows that you have little knowledge of the tech itself and made things up. There is absolutely no shame or anything negative in not knowing something. Making allegations from a position of ignorance however is another story.

I have learned a lot about strippers and porn stars from his show in the past, sure.

Great. I don't believe you. However, since it is so easy to prove it, I am open to you proving it and then I will agree with you. No problem. Please go ahead and prove it.

LOL! CarPlay does nothing more than mirror your phone. That's 100% known. LOL!
So easy to prove Apple cannot track what you are doing and where, yet you have not proved it yet. Maybe it isn't as easy as you claimed?

I didn't say that. You keep making up new claims.

I did prove that CP does not.
Sorry, I missed the proof. CP does not exist without an Apple device, so you cannot separate the two. Using CP means you are using an Apple device and all the tracking that goes along with it.

So you don't have an objection to CarPlay, you want to attack Apple. This isn't the place for it. Your flip phone has a GPS in it too, by the way, and is being tracked. That's a mandatory legal requirement.
