I'm interested. I tried to test out the truck on Black Mountain or Lusardi TT but the gates were closed a few weeks ago. Probably a good thing since I only have fix-a-flat kit.
I didn't have a spare for the first couple of months. I would at least add a quality tire plug kit. I still carry one with my spare. Also place the Rivian sealant kit in an additional zip-lock bag. Several people have had it leak and it is a big mess.

I just took delivery of my R1T on Friday! I live in Poway. My son and I just got back from a day trip to Anza Borrego, checking it out. Unbelievable impressed overall. I saw your earlier note and would enjoy hooking up with anyone to swap insights and get out. Paul
I forgot to mention that I went to the same location on 4/6 and the gates were still closed.

According to my range screen, I only get about 1 mile per kWh around town. So I have a bit of range anxiety about going to Anza Borrego. If I charge at Albertsons or Viejas, I should make it. But I don't think I could do a trip to and from my home in PQ. Thoughts?

I live in Carmel Valley. Took our R1S out to Anza Borrego and the Salton sea a few weeks ago. Banked about 12 miles of charge while eating breakfast in Borrego Springs and made it back home with enough to spare that I wasn’t nervous. Don’t remember the exact mileage but I sort of recall having at least 30-40 miles of range left after the trip. Drove in conserve mode there and back and in off-road mode out to Fonts Point. I have the 22“ wheels so have a lit better range than the 20”.

Hey San Diego gang,
I sent a request to customer service suggesting a RAN or two out in East County so we can enjoy Anza without stress of range anxiety. I suggested they partner with the Indian casinos who have both large parking lots and electricity. A win/win for the casinos to get business and for us to enjoy our R1Ts and R1S out in the desert. They wrote back saying it was a good idea and they would pass it on to the RAN Team. Maybe if others make the same request they will give it stronger consideration. Considering that there are so many R1Ts and R1S in San Diego and I see no planned RANs anywhere near us.
Cheers

Hey all! Just got my R1S, also in North County and would love to meet other owners.

Can anyone share a link to the SD Facebook group? Can't seem to find it. Thanks

Everyone should do this. I sent an email to customer service last August. It was my guide who then responded he forwarded it to the Charging Network Team. If enough of us do this it may end up on their radar.

This is what I wrote:

Your map doesn't show any RAN chargers for the Anza Borrego State Park. This is California's largest state park and has hundreds of miles of trails available for Rivian owners to get out. Anza Borrego has great camping, sightseeing, flora (Spring bloom draws thousands), fauna and fantastic star gazing. It is definitely an adventure destination. It would be a shame to not put a RAN charging station out there. There is not much out there for EV charging. As it sits right now I would need to leave my R1T at home and take my ICE vehicle. I hope more sites are being considered.
