Can only go by what they have published.. so far. If it does turn out to be 3.0mm Cold Rolled Stainless as advertised it will be a tank! Might actually be able to park within a couple of hundred feet of the store entrances for a change vs. out in left field in the boonies..

My R1T with a few paint scratches and dents will look a whole lot better than a pristine stainless steel cybertruck.

Awesome to hear, and I just had a tomato/mozzarella salad for lunch... so now we both feel good!

Maybe my comment came across a bit snarky. Probably more appropriate to say that if a person were to find the overall appearance of the cybertruck offensive, the durability of the body is not a sales point. But if a person liked the way both trucks looked than durability may matter. I have an earlyish reservation on the cybertruck and am still hoping that it's all a joke and it will look different. But as it stands I prefer my Rivian. To each his own.

I also prefer your lunch to my ham sandwich.

And I left out the best part.. the tomatoes and basil were from our garden, so they actually had flavor!

Doesn't need to be one until it's for sale. Trade secret.

trade secrets are protected by the patent system. Maybe qlon doesn't know that?

Actually, no. There are often good reasons not to get a patent. Like with the secret formula for Coke - if they got a patent then they would have to disclose their recipe and everyone would then know how to make it - and could make a similar-tasting beverage without infringing on the patent.

Besides, patents are only protected for a limited amount of time. Trade secrets are protected for as long as you can keep the secret.

Elon might have sold you on "rocket grade" stainless steel, but he won't sell you one with it. Zero chance from both a cost standpoint and a crash test rating standpoint that the steel is so strong it wont dent.
Great point. A car that doesn't dent won't dent in an accident either. You can't have super premium plus undentable rocket steel X AND a car that crumples in an accident. I wouldn't want to be in a car without crumple zones and I don't think a major manufacturer in their right mind would build a vehicle without them.

Omg! That is the butt ugliest vehicle I've ever seen. It replaces whatever was the ugliest before this. Holy cow! I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beerholder.

No offense but have you ever read a blueprint before? Trying to put that on the dashboard with the windshield interfering with looking directly at it is going to make it next to impossible to decipher what you're looking at. Trying to trace out a line looking at them from the side because of the windshield hits your head would be an exercise in futility.

Ironically though a traditional truck hood IS a decent place to lay a full size set of plans. Since you can place your head directly over what you're looking at you can actually see what you're doing.
That and nobody uses blueprints anymore
