Hi All,

Ever since the OTA update that granted us the ability to open and close the garage door using the right button on the steering wheel, I've observed an issue. If I hop into the truck, engage the brake, and begin driving while the seat and steering column are still adjusting to their saved positions, touching any button on the steering wheel interrupts their adjustment process.

Initially, I thought this interruption was only related to garage door operations. However, I've recently noticed that any interaction with a button or scroll thumb on the steering wheel disrupts the movement of both the steering column and seat.

I've tried restarting the truck multiple times, but the issue persists. While it's not a major inconvenience and I can wait for about 15 seconds before using the buttons, it can sometimes be a bit frustrating.

Anyone else?

Everyone else. It's designed to interrupt movement when you hit a button.

Yes, this is frustrating and I wish they would change this behavior (or fix if it's a bug).

This has always been the case since the easy access/ingress/egress thing came about. I'd occasionally get in and realize I'd left the radio too loud, and as soon as I went to turn it down, everything stopped moving. Same with garage if I happen to close it as I'm exiting the truck.

I understand the need for some kind of safety around these moving, BUT, and this is a big BUT, cars from 20 years ago just have physical controls for such things... AND, if Rivian could figure out their encoding around these moving parts, they wouldn't have to worry about them ending up in the wrong positions all the dang time in the first place.

Thank you for replying! :)

Yeah, I honestly noticed it right after OTA but have never paid too much attention to it, but lately, it started to be annoying for some reason. Thank you!
