Does anyone have experience shipping a set of A/T wheels with tires recently? If so, what is generally the best method to package to ensure they don’t get damaged and what is typically the cheapest shipping method? Doing a quick search it seems to be all over the place with just wrapping them and throwing a UPS label on them, packaging in boxes and shipping individually, strapping to a pallet and shipping by freight.

Generally, shipping wheels with tires, wrap them up in plastic wrap with foam and cardboard to protect the wheel facing part. I would protect both sides and add foam cushioning in the wheel well so the wrap doesn't get punctured and fall apart.

Ship each set separately. Pallet will cost you more money and you would have to drop off/pick it up from the freight terminal as home delivery will be hundreds more in fee.
Greyhound also ships and depending on how far away, may be cheaper and faster.

Just did that with some 22s I sold to another forum member. Worked well. Was a bit of a pain to make the pieces and do the work but luckily I had a bunch of old large boxes to cut up and a leftover roll of shrink wrap I used in the past. that TireRack kit sounds pretty slick though!

Shipped with ups using my stamps.com account which has a good discount on rates.

I’ve also done it on a pallet for a different wheel set in the past, but I’d only recommend that if you work somewhere with a dock and have access to decent discounts on freight shipping

You can also get decent freight shipping estimates from sites like Uship.

Do you remember roughly how much it was to ship these? I may be going to 20” AT and would be looking to sell my 22 brights.
