Shipping times

Hi all,
I live in Houston and have been told for 2 weeks my car was being shipped and apparently finally it’s being shipped today. Quick question, does anyone have any updates estimates on how long the rail trip is before it gets to the service center?

I don't know exactly when my vehicle shipped but it was about a month from start of 8-steps to delivery. Also keep in mind that once the vehicle arrives at the service center, it could take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to, worst case, starting over with a new VIN before the vehicle is ready for delivery. Really just depends what kind of issues the service center finds and whether there was any damage in transit. As they say, YMMV.

Mine took 3 days by rail to get from Illinois to CA.... But it sat at the rail yard in Chicago for a few days and another day or two when it got to the rail yard in CA.

Mine supposedly took 1 week from when it actually left the factory to arrival in Houston, per guide info.

Thanks this was helpful! I assume it’ll be at least a week and at least another before it’s ready for delivery.

I’m really hoping much quicker than that!

They did 500 in Texas in March, 3 service centers = 166 each. 24 business days = only 7 per day. Doesn’t seem like a huge backlog in Texas. Hopefully.

Lol me too but it’s been well over two weeks since I pulled the trigger in the shop and was told pretty much every update it was getting shipped so now just lowering my own expectations

How do you know where it was sitting without a GPS tracker? I would gladly pay extra to have my own tracking device in the vehicle.
Today is two weeks after contract was signed, My Yellow R1S is somewhere on the rail tracks towards Vancouver BC.

Unfortunately, you can't do it unless you know someone that has that type of access. My neighbor was able to track vehicles that hadn't been delivered from his office at Rivian. Once delivered or assigned to a customer (paired with phone) , he could no longer track them.
