Consider shape to also fit in tunnel.
If it could also fit in the tunnel, I would definitely buy it.

I wouldn't use it. I use Action Packers (available at Fred Meyer) they come with a snap on lit and are water proof if you want to unload them at camp. Fit perfectly under the tonneau cover.

Yes! But please consider a waterproof/resistant top that can quickly be clipped/zipped on/off the whole thing since the tonneau covers let in water most by the tailgate.

R1T Gen2
Hey All...

1st time poster, but not new to EV's. But I am a new Rivian owner of a 2025 Gen2 R1T that we got in September.

I was the one that asked BestEvMods to consider making such a carrier. You see, we had one that was made for our 2020 Model X that we used all the time in the rear hatch. When we got the R1T, we missed the ease of "quick storage" of groceries or other things we might've just purchased. By quick I mean an easy place to secure the bags from moving around etc in the rear hatch of the X. (Thus now the same for the R1T bed.)

So the use of this type of carrier is quick transport use, not for long term storage. We used the one we had in X in the Rivian and found we would like a larger one to "fit" the R1T, thus I reached out to them with the idea and they, much to my surprise and delight, produced the prototype you see and sent it to me for testing. (I had sent them them suggested sizes to use so to fit into the full width of the bed as well as it can work along the side of the bed and you can thus clip it into the tie downs. Also sent the height so it would work under the electric tonneau cover. It came in like you had seen it. Just about perfect!)

So now for us, we can just slide back the tonneau cover and place our bags in and close it and know things will stay where they are. When we get home, easy access and we have even unclipped and carried in our groceries all at once using the handles. Me on one end my wife on the other.

WATER...I do like the idea of a top cover of some sort, maybe a simpleone that has an elastic band which can be just put on and off. (Think like a shower cap. aka...Rain/water reference. ;)) I would like to see such a cover for only when used at full open size. As this carrier can be changed, via clips, to make it 1 to 4 storage compartments. I say this so to keep cost down as I would not want, or need, 4 separate covers based on how I may have it open. (Though we would always use it full open or you can't clip it in without and additional strap. Oh...Yeah, that's another suggestion...An adjustable tie down strap!)

As far as using it in the gear tunnel, the gear tunnel is a weird shape and size as you know. So it's not as convenient to put something like that in there based on how we personally would use it. (The carrier would need to be much smaller to be able to slide in and out.) As you can see in the photos, it carries grocery shopping bags, perfectly even a cooler bag to keep things cold as needed.

Anyways, that was my motivation in asking for such a product to be made. Seeing it would fit a Gen1 or Gen2, (Dare I say even maybe the R1S? Though I have no clue on the rear area of that.) I would think it would have a market if they could bring it in for under $100. (Our smaller one for the X was $59 for comparison.)

Oh before you say "You know you have a back seat right?"...Yes, we have a back seat and could use that when we go shopping, etc....But we also have an 80 lbs Shepard service dog. :like:

That's my input, I hope more people have an interest in this and would vote it up. Would love to see this be made for others.
