SIAP: R1T Shop Question

I’m a 11/2022 R1S reservation holder, but by the way it looks, it seems it’s gonna be a while until I get R1S shop access. I’m getting pretty desperate for a new car, and would prefer to avoid the up selling 3rd party market.

Does anyone know if I put in a separate reservation for a R1T, will I be granted R1T shop access right away?

It could be as little as 14 days.

You might get shop access right away on a new order but it will be at current prices, not your preorder price.

I think a new R1T reservation gets near immediate R1T Shop access. I think that's how they're advertising delivery in as little as 14 days - meaning in a certain scenario, if you pick a Shop truck that is fully built and either en route to or already at a destination close to you, you can take delivery quickly.

I just lost shop access after switching from an R1T to an R1S, but I think a Shop vehicle, if not that aforementioned ideal scenario, can still take 4 to 8 or 4-6 weeks to deliver? I can't recall exactly what the verbiage was.

I have no idea how long it's taking to build new R1T orders these days.

I think the exhistong preorder is post March 22 so it’s not like they have the cost saving to lose

I think it depends on your location (proximity to a service center). You could’ve drove one off just a few days ago from the factory.
But in any case you could probably put in a new preorder for an R1T and reach out to customer service and ask for shop access.

From when I chose my truck until it was at the SC was about 10 days…and that included time to get it from the factory to the SF Bay Area. The window sticker said it was shipped by truck.

The demand for the R1S now outpaces that for the R1T considerably and starting in Q2, Rivian adjusted their production mix to account for that change. The number of R1T's that I see in the R1 Shop is still two or three times the number of R1S's however. The banner in the Shop says "Delivery in 1 - 8 weeks", which is as you note, based on the location of the vehicle.

I changed from an R1T Max to an R1S LR back in February when Rivian deep-sixed the quad Max. I too lost access to the R1 Shop after making the change. I think this is common, but I think it's also routine for access to be restored if requested, either through CS or via your Guide if you have one. In my case, I had access restored after I did a First Mile ride, even though I did not request it.

If you ordered 11/2022 have current pricing. I don't expect R1S prices on the used market to stay so high. The last few that sold on Cars and Bids sold for less than current prices before you add the 4.5% buyers fee. Pretty darn close to current MSRP. In another month or so I expect them to be even lower. Rivian has really ramped up R1S lately.

I bought R1T (wife has pre March 22 pricing and order for R1S). I got the R1T for about $4,000 less than current MSRP with only 200 miles on it. I also saved the $2,000 in destination and doc. I encourage people to support Rivian by buying from them instead but my Tesla was repurchased and I needed something quick.

R1S ordered from shop and wife will have very soon ?

Can anyone that has post-March pricing tell me how much the quad motor R1T’s are going for in the 14 day shop? The quad moto config I looked at is priced around $93k, just curious if that matches what is in the shop.

That is consistent with the Shop. The shop ranges from 89k - 96k depending on options.

the largest stock of R1Ts on the east coast is Richmond VA. I see you are in Atlanta. If you pick a shop vehicle on the ground in Atlanta or Richmond your delivery should be quick. I bought a shop truck and it was delivered to me 4 days later.
