Yes, I'm aware. I was in sales in a high end car audio shop and made a chunk of money on Sirius & XM subs & installations when they were two separate entities back and kept up with the larger details up until after the merger. It was "Boomer speak" since that's kind of where this topic exists now. It had it's day back in the 90's but that ship has long since sailed. Much much better options now and I'm thankful for it.XM doesn’t exist anymore. Sirius absorbed it along with its awful content
I'm honestly glad manufacturers don't opt to license that and add the hardware to run it and other things as separate stand-alone entities since this all adds cost. Sure, there are rare instances where it might work when nothing else does but that's for those that even use it which is a very, very, very small percentage of car owners. No sense increasing the cost of everyone's car for something so rarely utilized just like CD players and cassette decks.
It would be nice if they offered it as an option to add the satellite receiver at a cost as an option for those that want it but my guess is they determined that it wouldn't be worth the effort to even offer/catalog/support it with as few as would likely pay for it. Rightly so.
Hey, you 'member that one time Howard Stern made like $400mil back when that would be nearly a billion in today dollars just for being exclusive on Sirius? What a time. These kids these days don't understand that with their bussin and their tik toks.
