Test drove a used ( 700 miles ) Rivian that had this issue, among other defects (GPS/LTE/SOS not working). VIN was pre-18,000 so it had the welded bits in the suspension. The welds looked solid though.
I walked away but put a deposit down on an R1T that night. The next day I had access to the shop and was able to pick one out! Completed all but 3 of the steps and awaiting Delivery to open up. (1 to 8 weeks)
Hopefully sooner than later as I'll be selling my RAM 1500 tomorrow.
