As I sit in my sons bedroom while trying to get him to sleep i can’t help but notice the last R1S specific post was days ago…have we collectively burned ourselves out speculating and hypothesizing when our new toys will arrive? I check for updates on this site 5-10 times a day hoping someone ( anyone ) breaks through with a solid development - alas - they never do. Maybe this is the first time in the history of the internet that rampant speculation has run its course and we are now all just sitting with sad faces waiting for our phones to ring.

one day my fellow R-S’ers…one day.

I can't believe how little info is out there on the S. Wife needs it. I can't get any info on when I can get my lightning (1st day preorder), so I just sit and wait. Nothing else that can replace either of those, so I just sit and wait. And I check here and there for some hope of info, but nothing, so I sit and wait.

I’m in the same boat…incredibly excited but somewhat bummed…I’m a June/July delivery and have hyped my kids up so much but knowing March/April/May people are still empty handed an now tempted to buy an i4 m50 to play with over the summer and accept the rivian will arrive when it arrives

Not an S reservation but definitely feel your pain and angst. The truck is 2 in 1 for me- EV and light towing. If it wasn't for that I would have flipped the bird to Rivian long ago, I'm tempted every day as the wait goes on

It’s gotten real bad.
damn it - now I need to worry about my wife not only expecting a new R1S in the next 60 days but me morphing into modern day Fabio

As an adventure trim, aren't you still a few months out from your delivery window (technically speaking)?

Ha! Have you heard of the Rivian delivery lottery?! I'm being totally sarcastic, hardly the first to complain about it. But next week we are getting updated, accurate delivery windows ?

I just found this footage of an R1S preorder holder having an actual face to face conversation with his guide.

Honestly - I LIKE the silence - I don't understand what value there is in fabricating scenarios in your head to get overly excited about - only to be let down, or to get upset about with no factual basis to back it up. Those two activities seem to literally define every form of communication on the internet now - we're all so bored with everything in life we have to fabricate problems, or future scenarios just to stir up any emotion good or bad (mostly bad).

I wish we could reset back to a time when stoicism was a thing, and we would get on with our lives, waiting silently for actual facts and details, and then responding accordingly to those things. there'd be 90% less BS to sort though, less wish fulfillment, less "would you still love me if I were a worm?" content, and more relevant data that actually meant something.

So yeah, I welcome the silence. Let the hype die and let's all operate in the realm of realities and probabilities, not "possibilities".

Most people would adjust to this if Rivian actually said that to begin with. We ain't telling you shit, the vehicles arrive when they arrive. If that was the expectation from the get-go, there would be a lot less disappointed people (although it's debatable if the speculation would actually decrease).

We live in an age of "I want it now" whether it is information or products. This has been fueled by 24x7x365 of latest information via the internet, online ordering with immediate delivery date provided, Amazon same day delivery, etc. etc. etc. Subconciously somewhere, we have unrealistic expectations that Rivian perform like Google and Amazon, whether we realize that or not. In reality, as a startup, we should expect them to perform like - oh snap, a complex order to manufacture startup. And then came COVID and supply chain issues. Even if Rivian had told us "go pound sand" the speculation and anxiety would still be there. Human nature, some people thrive on the drama.

If order holders have this high level of expectation, they made a big mistake ordering a Rivian, and they are going to continue to be disappointed. Those of us who have supported Kickstarter projects in the past , or worked in/with complex manufacturing startups, have a better perspective - we've been there and done this.

Some years ago, I discovered that worrying and spending energy about things I do not have any input or control is nuts. Only leads to frustrations and anxiety.

Those that are frustrated and post their feelings only spiral others down with them. A real case of misery loves company.

Its June and its a start of summer months. Go enjoy the outdoors or whatever that you like to do, but not this....

Cheers!

Down the road with hindsight, we may realize the extra wait was what we needed to see the options we can not see now. I think we will survive the wait. It could be always worse, we could be waiting in a different kinda line:
