State inspections near Fairfax

Need a state inspection, but I don't want to go through the whole rigamarole of booking an appointment with one of the shops just to have it inspected. I just like to drive in, get the inspection, and leave. Anyone had luck getting this done with their Rivian? Where did you go?

I took to Gas station near Rt 50 + 28 junction.. right at the corner of centreville rd intersection rt 50.

I moved to Fairfax in summer 2024, so I've now been through two inspection cycles out here. The place I took it to last year was one of those garages that is super thorough and tries to find a bunch of random b.s. that they try to upcharge you for. Was really happy with the place I found this year - Briar Oaks Service Center on US-50, just west of West Ox Road. No appointments, only had to wait one car in front of me, and no attempts to upsell me on unnecessary service items.

I’ve been going to the Springhill Exxon in McLean for years. No finding issues that don’t exist. Just in and out. It is at the intersection of Springhill and Old Dominion.

I'm due as well. Thanks for asking this. I had my done in Richmond during regular maintenance stop last year.

Also, the new service center in Sterling/Aldie may do inspections. I don’t know but I’ll ask a buddy of mine who is heading there today.

I can remember when I first moved to northern Virginia is 1994. I had to get my Dodge Dakota inspected, so I went to the local gas station. At the time, inspections cost about $7.50 in Texas. The Virginia bill was over $40. I complained about the cost, and the inspector said, “Welcome to the Commonwealth of Virginia, and when they say ‘Commonwealth,’ they ain’t talkin’ about you and me!”
