My 2 year old R1T steering wheel heat has never really worked. I have heard from many others in the past that theirs was lacking also. So I didn’t think much about it.

my wife is finally getting an R1S max pack and she said the test drive today had very warm steering wheel heat. Now I am thinking mine isn’t working.

so I have made a pole to help me decide

The heating cycle is too long. Mine will warm up nicely then cool off then heat up. If they cut the cooling cycle by half it would be perfect I think. There are other threads on this it is a known issue I’m hoping is adjusted with a OTA update. Seems like a pretty simple change but I’m no programmer.

Today it’s warm and toasty, but the cabin is high 80’s as it’s that outside ;-/

This is one of my chief complaints about my Rivian.

It's not nearly warm enough. I did a comparison test against a Jeep Wrangler and the Rivians steering wheel heater was >10F colder.

It doesn't automatically turn on in the winter nor does it remember whether it was on or not the last time I used the vehicle

It seems to cycle where it gets colder despite being left on.

The first one required replacement since it was only heating the top

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised Rivian didn't silently fix it on new vehicles. I'd have to do a comparison test.
