Tailgate damage

Looking for suggestions. Had my truck parked in front of my gym, early hours. During that time got hit in the Tailgate area - no clue what hit it but maybe tall box truck? Rear bumper and sensors all ok. Of course gear guard didn't record anything (no surprise...) No one left a note and gym parking lot cameras were useless.

Seems like issues are isolated to the tailgate itself. It still opens and closes no problem and no warning lights/errors. Is there an online scrap yard for used Rivian parts/pieces. I checked my local junk yards and no luck.

I called Rivian and obviously they don't suggest it but had to take my truck to a Rivian authorized body shop last year as a deer jumped in front of my truck. That ended up being $18K in damage and my insurance rates almost doubled this year so I'm trying to get the piece and then have another body shop just swap it out?

Might be all crazy thoughts on my end...

Sorry to hear that. That looks like multiple impacts, and pretty strong ones too, to have made such dents around the bends. I had a motorcycle trailer hitch come undone and hit my tailgate right below the second "I" in the lettering. Happened while I was loading the motorcycle, was on a sloped driveway, and with the weight of the motorcycle. Impact was far less, and PDR mostly got the dent out.

Yeah you might want to source the part from a salvage yard or so, considering the fresh insurance history

Find one that someone does not need, for some reason. Like they built something on back of the truck... Or a Salvage Yard.

Thanks for the replies, actually mine is Forest Green - lighting makes it look like LG. I'll definitely contact them!
