Tailgate pad clearance with new tonneau

Someone had asked in a recent thread (that I can’t find), so figured I’d answer, even if it’s many months late.

The Rivian-branded tailgate pad fits just fine with the powered tonneau (mine is the new version, unclear if there’s any difference to original). I’ve got both closed and it’s tight but fits great.

I’m also curious but I don’t understand the use case. If you have the pad on, I see no reason why you’d want the tonneau on at the same time

More because I can’t be bothered to keep taking the pad on and off. Easier to slide the tonneau off and out.

Also very interested in knowing whether or not I can close the tailgate with the Rivian MANUAL Tonneau Cover and the Rivian Tailgate Pad installed at the same time. I don’t want to have to take the tailgate pad off all the time.
