Taking Delivery Friday, sign contract beforehand?

You can take a cashiers check with and insist on inspecting the car before you hand them the money. The problem with taking delivery and having issues with the car is that they will put you out months to get the items fixed. If you decide to walk you still have your money in hand.

I did do a demo drive a few months ago and that’s when I fell in love with the truck!

Specifically what I meant in my post is test driving the vehicle you plan on purchasing. Like if you go to a dealer you test drive the one you plan on buying.

Just need to get used to this new way, and yes looking forward to this seamless experience and not dealing with shady dealers. Thanks again for all of the advice this community is great! Really appreciate it!

We told our first Delivery Guide that we needed to get used to driving the R1S, preferably with her help, before we drove home to the Coast.

We told our second Delivery Guide that we didn't need to get used to anything, just to get the R1T and head to the West Coast with it.

They will generally meet your needs and indulge your wishes if they can. My personal experience with Rivian is that they try hard to make things right for customers whenever they can.

You do need to sign ahead of time for them to get the registration arranged. Unfortunately you don't get to "inspect" the vehicle prior to delivery but you do get a chance to tally up a list of whatever you want fixed before you drive the vehicle off the lot.

Wanted to let everyone know thanks again for being so helpful!
Picked up Raynor today and the process was so smooth. Told the wife we are never going to traditional dealers ever again. Freaking night and day!

The guide was awesome before signing the final contract and sending payment he let me do a full walkthrough in and out, test everything, etc. Signing and waiting on registration after sending payment was maybe 30 mins.

Also big shout out to Jose from RivianTracker! Great website and was very helpful when I reached out to him.

Miami SC I see. I should be there next Friday at 8:30 am. Picking up my Gen 2 R1S. So you made due at signing while you was there? Via the website via PLAID?

Yes I used plaid and they received it right away. Until you sign and pay they can’t process the registration which only took 15-30 mins. But I was in the car playing with everything while I waited for that so it went by quickly.
