That is spot on. You have to invest a fortune in this space to have any hope of achieving FSD. Rivian just doesnât have the R&D budget to keep up. Plenty of other automakers donât either. Tesla canât do robotaxis yet, but they have cars that can do about 99% of your driving for you. That is pretty amazing.Yeah, but which legacy OEM has the billions of dollars worth of compute that will allow them to even keep their head above water? And where will they get the billions of miles of real world driving data?
