As a gen-x guy who's been into cars for 40+ years all this reminds me so much about the ford mustang vs chevy camaro vs dodge challenger drama. And I'm talking about back in the 80s not all the newer cars today. Drive whatever the eff you want. Crow about it.

But people would drive their cars. Some would crow about their driving skills. I've done countless of runs down a dragstrip and enjoyed the hell out of myself on the autox.

Today? You have the same people crowing about some effing nerds in a office who coded a driving algorithm for their cars to drive themselves.

But much like decades ago, people lie about everything. And we have the richest guy in the world who can't tell the truth about anything. Finally since critical thinking skills are now in the toilet we have these forums go on and on about those effing nerds in a far away office.

What a stupid timeline.

Oh come on, surely there have been times when his greed, self-benefit, and truth aligned purely by accident.

BTW, the Chevy-Ford-Dodge thing is fully alive and well, but now we add software to the mix.

And of course we have the anti-EV people, and now, the anti/pro-Tesla people, which flip flopped recently, because a president did an infomercial from the white house lawn. This has got to be confusing as hell to the coal rolling anti-EV idiots who can't afford a carton of eggs but are told to go buy a Tesla.

Crazy timeline indeed.

Yes and I still argue that full self driving isn't ready for driverless cars.
A claim that has been proven incorrect of course, since they are actively in use with an incident rate vastly lower than humans. I'll be taking a few rides in one today.

A claim for which you have 0 proof, of course.

Other than videos of me riding in them? The thousands of articles in major media showing it? What exactly is proof? WTF, trolling??

The fact that you are even asking that question, or believe that footage of you or other Tesla stans riding around using it qualifies as proof, pretty much says it all. For every video you claim is "proof" it works perfectly, there is a video showing it doesn't.... Same thing for your "articles" you claim "prove" it is safer than a human driver.

The irony here (of course), is that you immediately demand raw footage and/ or data from anyone who challenges Tesla's claims, yet you don't question why Tesla doesn't end this debate once and for all by releasing raw data for all those miles driven?

How do you feel about the Waymo or Mercedes systems (Mercedes has the only level 3 system currently available in the US)?

Is it just FSD you don't trust?

The fact that you assumed this was about Teslas pretty much says it all. That post was not about Teslas, and I will not be in any Teslas today. But will be in fully autonomous driverless vehicles several times.

Your extreme bias is both sad and hilarious.

None of them are ready to be widely used.

The difference with Waymo and Mercedes (and others) is they aren't making the types of ridiculous claims about their systems Tesla does. And Waymo actually does release safety data that was evaluated by 3rd parties. Waymo currently only exists in LA, San Fran, Phoenix, and Austin. Tesla has chosen to make all of us part of the experiment.

Good for you. It still doesn't change the fact you thought "proof" includes videos of Tesla stans driving around using FSD. It was also you who claimed that FSD is safer than human drivers. So provide proof of that claim.

Why doesn't Tesla release the raw data from all that testing if it's as safe as they (and you) claim?

Tesla data would be disengagement statistics which mean nothing as the system is both supervised, not feature complete, and a user an disengage for any reason they want.

Accidents are already reported to the NHTSA

Not true. It would include data like speed, braking, etc. You know, like if it was engaged and ran off the road when it should have turned, or plowed into a motorcycle or first responders stopped on the road?

Stop making excuses. You literally dissected Rober's video like it was the JFK assassination. Why does Tesla get a pass from you on transparency?

You're acting like FSD is hitting people. It's not.

If it were it would not be on the roads.

The NHTSA reports show exactly what happens when the car crashes.

FSD "crashes" are mostly the car clipping a curb or bumping into a car at 5mph.

No slamming into motorcycles, emergency vehicles, etc.

Again you are making the same claim you cannot prove :CWL:

And still didn't answer the question: Tesla has the data to prove FSD and AP are as safe as they/ you claim (IF it's true). Why don't they release it?

You can literally look at the NHTSA crash statistics for yourself

Reported accidents with FSD are pretty rare because fsd accidents in the past were clipping curbs and damaging wheels/suspension

Even with the new actually smart summon, I've not seen any evidence of actually smart summon ever hitting another car. In the old version from years ago, it would do that
