Tesla has had effectively two accidents of noteworthy with the cybertruck. It is not statistically significant enough to jump to conclusions about the safety of said vehicle.

Rivian has not sold statistically enough vehicles or probably had enough miles driven on their vehicles to make conclusions about safety.

When R2 comes out we will see what really happens
Rivian has sold more vehicles than the CT and hasn’t burned anyone alive. I’d say there’s a pretty obvious conclusion to draw from that. Rivian didn’t glue their vehicles together either, so pieces aren’t flying off them when people are driving down the road. We can draw a conclusion from that as well.

because nobody has crashed a rivian in the same way. That's on the driver, not the vehicle

Plenty of people have crashed Rivians all sorts of ways. You have 0 evidence for that claim. Next, why don't you explain why the CT has parts flying off while driving down the road and Rivian doesn't? Let me guess, people "aRenT dRiViNg tHeM tHe sAmE wAy"

Find me said rivian crashes.

you know why the panels are falling off. It's a glue issue. Cybertruck might be the only vehicle you can buy with glued on panels. I don't own a cybertruck.

There's a reason for that.

I'm not defending the cybertruck. I'm arguing against your idiotic belief that an R1S/R1T Gen 2 is somehow any different.
Which is stupid because they are. No one has been roasted alive in a Rivian, and the Rivian doesn't have parts flying off while driving down the road or have their whole ass snap off while someone tries to tow.

Rivian uses LFP in many of their models (tesla does not use LFP in cybertruck) and therefore the fire risk is directly related to the number of vehicles that have larger battery packs without LFP

Tesla does not sell a vehicle with LFP anymore and the entry level model 3 has 363 miles of range. Tesla doesn't make low range vehicles anymore

So the problem is Tesla uses more dangerous batteries? I agree. Now, address the parts flying off. If Rivian isn't any different than you claim, explain why it doesn't have that problem.

my point is that rivian is no different from a fire crash perspective and doors failing to open.

Rivian switched to electronic doors with Gen 2 which would suffer the same fate. How many gen 2 rivians are there? Not many and it's not much different than cybertruck

And as far as tesla not using LFP it is because they are going for the tax credit with the cheaper models. That and the fact that LFP is a "cheap" battery

The rumor is also that the tesla 4680 is cheaper than LFP in america, but that remains to be seen

Rivians aren't burning people alive to begin with so this whole comment is irrelevant.

electric vehicle fires are rare. People aren't driving rivians like they are cybertrucks. Does any of this matter?

Also rivian has a considerably lower top speed then a cyberbeast

The Rivian that did that was a known issue, which is why it was quarantined. Top speed has nothing to do with it, and the claim that people aren't driving them like cybertrucks is also unsubstantiated. Do you have evidence for anything that you say?

That study was based on an unknown number of miles that tesla vehicles have driven. It doesn't help that they are basing the tesla "miles driven" on used vehicles for sale.

people who really drive their Tesla vehicles do not sell them

The reason tesla does not correct said article is they know the numbers and it is still probably not as good as they would like

It also doesn't help that that study only focuses on the NHTSA reports when tesla have driven more than 150 billion miles at this point
